The grinder cuts, finishes and reduces by abrasion the roughness and irregularities of the surfaces of industrial parts and products, taking into account safety rules and production requirements (deadlines, quality). As a professional, the grinder works while ensuring their own safety and that of their environment.
Your duties
- Prepare the work: attend the briefing given by the team leader, prepare the work area and the resources required for the activity, and identify the finishing, surface treatment or repair operations, the tools and abrasives and the surface finish required from technical documents
- Carry out the work: cut components, finish a part, grind the surface, check its condition (roughness, appearance, apothem) and carry out touch-ups, excavate following defects, and identify the tools appropriate to the work
- Check the work: visually verify and check the condition defined in the technical documents and carry out simple checks with the tools provided
- Complete traceability records: carry out first-level maintenance on the tools provided and complete the technical documents
Your profile
- Proven experience in grinding, finishing and surface treatment of industrial parts
- Proficiency in abrasion and cutting techniques, and in selecting the appropriate tools and abrasives
- Reading and working from technical documents
- Autonomy in visually checking surface condition (roughness, appearance, apothem)
- Attention to detail and adherence to safety rules, both for themselves and for their environment
